The Inaugural Meeting

Welcome to The Twitter Book Club - or The TwookClub - as it shall no doubt be come known! This first post is just to provide a point of meeting for discussion, so that we can decide how often we'd like to read, how we'll pick our books and how our discussions will take place.

Off the top of my head, I'm thinking that many people are very busy, so maybe we should start with a book a month with a view to increasing that if people want to in the future. We can take it in turns to pick the book of the month and discussions can be posted on the blog after an agreed date (so that we can all aim to finish the book before the plot is discussed!) Any suggested book is acceptable, so that we don't put people off from sharing favourite books because they feel it might not be received well.

Have a think. See what you you feel about the above and then feel free to comment. Hopefully we can get our first book chosen soon ;-)

  1. I'd love to join the twookclub, if you let me :)
I'm also known as @_bibibibi on twitter, an avid reader and hoping to add an "international feel" to the membership.
Although my main interest is modern British fiction, I may sometimes "get in the way" so to speak, or skip a session or two due to availability of books in our part of the world.
But if I see a familiar title, I'll gladly join in the discussion :)
    all the best,

  2. I'd love to join I read loads of different genres - depending on my mood. Although favourites will always be Anne Rice, SirT Pratchett and Enid Blyghton :-D
Love all vampire fiction, psychological thrillers and fantasy. Also like a good laugh and open to reading anything except romantic fiction (I'm so not a girly girl, lol) @storm_rider_uk on Twitter, I'll wait with anticipation for the first book!

  4. Count me in. I love to read (although I don't always have time) and I'm not really fussy. I read kids fiction, sci-fi and Terry P, romantic nonsense, thrillers and horror, biographies and more. Really from classics to Vampires, I'll read it - if I get the time. Let me know what you choose. 'cited now! xx Wen xx

  5. So I'm thinking - should we get WennyWoo to pick our first book, as she's The Goblin Queen? Wen - lemme have your email addy on message at FB and I'll add you as an author - you can write a post telling us what we should read, what date we need to finish by (a month thence) and why you recommend the book (no plot spoilers!) Hurrah!!
